This is an entry-level position that will complement the continuous improvement team. Your role as the Safety and Quality Coordinator is critical to the success of our Lean Production System. Key skills, mindset, and experience you bring:

  • A sense of ownership for everything you deliver. You have a high standard of quality with an eye for continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and people management skills. You manage expectations, engage staff, and solicit feedback
  • Confident and comfortable with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, 365 and can easily adopt new software and technology
  • Impeccable organizational and administrative skills
  • Data driven with the ability to establish metrics, identify gaps and opportunities
  • You stay current on innovations in technology and industry trends
  • Knowledge of OH&S regulations, GMP & HACCP, and/or Lean principles is an asset

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety: Design toolbox training, conduct safety orientations, schedule training and maintain training records, manage hazard identification program, facilitate Joint Health Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings, investigate near misses and recordable injuries, manage safety supplies and support Occupational Safety Standard of Excellence (OSSE) audit
  • Quality: Perform root cause analysis and identify preventive corrective actions to quality issues, complete report and follow up on corrective actions, complete corrective action reports for customer complaints, prepare presentation for company-wide meetings, maintain quality database and dashboard, analyze quality statistics and make recommendations
  • Food Safety: Complete supplier questionnaires, facilitate monthly Food Safety meeting, coordinate monthly 5S audit, manage pest control program and support annual audit
  • Support the operations team with continuous improvement initiatives
