We are looking for a self-motivated and dependable Red Seal Electrician with Commercial and Industrial Experience to join our Maintenance Team. This position supports our afternoon shift working Monday to Friday

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in day to day maintenance and break down repair of manufacturing equipment.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to help with small mechanical projects and issues including pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Perform and assist in building our preventative maintenance program
  • Passionate about safety and leads by example on and off the production floor
  • Presents new and innovative ideas for change by collaborating with all divisions to achieve results
  • Accurately documenting all works carried out through our CMMS system
  • Installing, moving and modifying equipment as required
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics skills
  • Knowledge of PLC’s including Siemens S5 & S7, Allen Bradley SLC 500, Micro Logix, Mitsubishi etc.
  • Supporting multiple projects on 5v to 600v systems
  • Supporting modernization for safety and reliability improvements
  • Ability to read and adapt drawings. As well as design, build and document control and safety systems

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Red Seal ticketed Electrician is required
  • 5 years post certification experience is required, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic experience
  • Current Boom Lift, Scissor Lift, Fall Protection and Fork Lift Ticket is preferred
  • Thrives in a true team environment and holds strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective multi-tasking ability paired with a passion for organization and drive to work in a fast pace environment
  • Comfortable working outside from time to time, as well as performing movements such as bending, crawling, lifting, climbing, pulling and reaching
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and 5S standards is an asset

The People:

  • Reports to Maintenance Manager
  • Creating a supportive and strategic relationship with the whole maintenance team
  • Collaborates and coordinates with the production management to ensure all machines are correctly maintained

  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend and Implement strategies to continually improve service and expand the abilities of the department
  • Culture: A supportive and enthusiastic attitude that provides a positive outlook to not only the maintenance team, but GLBC as a whole
  • Trust: Uses and approachable and supportive attitude to establish a sense of trust between the maintenance team and production staff
