The position:

Our Maintenance team is looking for a Hands on, dynamic, self-motivated individual to join us as an Afternoon Shift Maintenance Supervisor/Millwright. This individual will work beside and support a small team of professionals focusing almost exclusively on developing and implementing a preventive maintenance program, while ensuring proper safety procedures are followed. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.

This position is a full time position. There is some flexibility in working hours but will predominantly be afternoon to evening hours

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Preference may be given to those candidates with minimum of two years of supervisory experience assigning, monitoring and examining work of assigned employees for accuracy and quality; evaluating work performance and maintaining schedules.
  • Previous manufacturing experience an asset
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety
  • Self-starter that takes initiative
  • Must be able to work with a team and self-motivated to work independently
  • Competent in the use of hand and power tools and test equipment
  • Red seal ticketed Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, Tool and Die maker or Electrician
  • 5 years post qualification experience is required
  • High attention to detail and takes pride in work
  • Good English language skills, spoken and written
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills
  • Capable of working in a high-pressure environment, with the ability to multi-task
  • Experience working on Corrugated packaging machinery, label printing presses, Paperboard packaging machines and automatic strapping machines is desirable

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing weekly schedules, assigning work to each team member, monitoring progress and ensuring safety standards are adhered to at all times
  • Training new Maintenance Team members
  • Undertake all corrective, emergency and any additional work assigned at short notice
  • Responsible for compiling planned maintenance programs for critical machines.
  • Responsible for the regular planned maintenance of all production machinery and equipment
  • Assisting in training Maintenance team members on Lean Manufacturing procedures and 5S
  • Ensuring cooperation and coordination between the Maintenance Department and other departments of the company
  • Other projects as assigned by the Maintenance Manager
