RICHMOND, B.C., October 22, 2020 — Great Little Box Company/ Ideon Packaging (GLBC) recently took home three Excellence Awards at the Paperboard Packaging Council’s (PPC) 77th annual North American Paperboard Packaging Competition. The packaging designs recognized in PPC’s competition represent some of the best folding cartons and rigid boxes manufactured over the past year.
The awards are:
- Excellence Award in Sustainability for: Big Marble – Marbelous Snack from Red Hat Co-operatives Ltd. The challenge was to provide a solution that was not only more environmentally friendly but allowed for easy production loading, product ventilation and remained an eye catching product for consumers.

Graphic Designer – Tugboat Group
- Excellence Award for: Harken Coffee Carton. The challenge was to provide a departure from standard coffee bags and boxes while staying true to the customer’s sustainability stance and create a design that would reflect the restaurant’s Japanese inspired aesthetic.

Graphic Designer – Studio Faculty
- Excellence Award for: Pod Pack from Vancouver Island Brewing. The challenge was to create the Pod Pack’s fin to mimic the orca’s dorsal fin while creating a functional closure with shelf appeal that included black and white esthetics and a soft touch finish.

Graphic Designer – One Twenty Three West
