Their membership includes national and international corporations, mid-sized firms, entrepreneurial start-ups, and small companies. The Business Excellence Awards are the pinnacle event of the Richmond business calendar. Richmond’s outstanding businesses (from large corporations to solopreneurs) are recognized at a gala evening at the River Rock Theatre and celebrated in media and throughout the Chamber’s network for the rest of the year.
When asked about being inducted to the Business Excellence Awards Hall of Fame for 2019, Christine Tindall, Vice President of Human Resources of GLBC said, “We are proud to be a member of the Richmond community and appreciate all that the city has to offer from a beautiful riverfront location to the diverse business community.”

GLBC has a long history of being a member of the Richmond business community and has spent close to 20 years located in Richmond. Our history began in 1982 in a 5000 sq.ft. facility in Burnaby and expanded quickly in 1983 to a 12,000 sq.ft. location on Viscount Street in Richmond. Two years later, a move to Olafsen Avenue and a subsequent move to Simpson Road in Richmond saw their sq.ft. increase to 70,000. Their fast-growing company relocated to Chester Street, Vancouver in 1994 and finally moved back to Richmond in 2006 to build a brand new headquarters and 250,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility. The riverfront location and proximity to large business centers was a driving force behind the decision to build their new home in Richmond. Richmond has a great mix of diverse population, growing business community and appealing natural reserves and was close to many of GLBC’s existing customers and employees.
