Jas Dhillon is a Customer Solutions Coordinator in the Labels – Retail Packaging Division at our Richmond, BC location. She works with clients across Vancouver Island and parts of the mainland. This customer care veteran has been effortlessly engaging team members and clients alike with her big, warm personality for over 10 years. We’re looking forward to at least 10 more with her!
Have you ever thought about working in any other division?
I’ve thought about it before, but I really like our small tight-knit team. It’s much more fast-paced than the other divisions, never a dull moment!
How long have you worked in customer service?
In some capacity, every job since high school. Every role had some aspect of customer service in it.
Why did you choose customer service?
I studied Marketing and Sales at Langara College and the Sales part of it spoke to me more than Marketing.
What are your keys to success?
Strong time management, clear communication, and having a friendly attitude.
What interests you most about your work?
We create labels for about every product you can imagine. Labels are an integral part of packaging, they capture the attention of the consumer and help sell the product. I like seeing the labels we have manufactured on store shelves too!
What are your biggest challenges and how do you overcome them?
Supply chain issues since the start of the pandemic. It’s disheartening when a material shortage delays a customer’s product launch. It’s important to maintain clear communication at this time, and let them know what we are doing behind the scenes, whether it is looking at alternatives or checking with other suppliers.
What advice would you have given yourself 15 years ago?
There’s a quote I have looked at many times over the years. It may sound corny but here it is: “You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and stronger than you think.”
What’s your favourite memory of working at GLBC?
Box goal trips, summer BBQs and year-end holiday parties.
