Company Culture Roundup – October

Our company culture is what keeps us coming to work happy and motivated on a daily basis here at GLBC. We work hard but are rewarded with amazing relationships, fun activities, and an overall feel-good mentality.

One of our main priorities is to give back to the community – in fact, our corporate goal is to have 100 employees volunteer by the end of the year, and we are well on our way to achieving this goal!

Here’s a look at some of the activities we’ve participated in this past month in our GLBC Company Culture Roundup!

Philip Lim’s Retirement

On October 3rd we celebrated the retirement of our Maintenance Manager Philip Lim, who has been with GLBC since 1991. In the words of Robert Meggy, our President and CEO, “Philip is one of the nicest people I have ever known, and we will miss him very much!”

Volunteering at the food bank

26 employees from different departments – shipping, design, labels, office, and steel dies – got together over the weekend of October 4th to help out at the Food Bank.

We received many compliments from the Food Bank coordinator saying she has never seen the warehouse so organized and clean! A big thank you to all the volunteers!

Volunteering at We Day

GLBC team members from our Productions and Operations teams were thrilled to volunteer at We Day Vancouver. It was truly motivating to see so many inspirational leaders of our time calling for social change, and to witness so much passion and dedication amongst the “Me to We” generation in the audience.

Dress for the Cause Bake Sale

GLBC hosted a bake sale to raise funds for breast cancer research and through the generosity of our employees, we were able to raise $770 for this worthy cause. In addition, GLBC will match this donation and kick in another $770 for a grand total of $1540.
