We are always looking for ways to care for our community and our employees are passionate about supporting various charities and associations. Here are just a few of our recent activities:
We continued our support for the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund this holiday season by sponsoring the Burn Fund’s 50/50 raffle. All proceeds go to the fund which supports burn survivor programs like Burn Camp for kids, virtual mental health support, and the Home Away accommodation program which offers families traveling to Vancouver for burn and trauma treatment a home away from home.
GLBC is proud to have partnered with the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund at the Stanley Park Bright Nights VIP Event for BC Burn Fund Families. Our team handed out digitally printed corrugated fire trucks that were filled with goodies for the Burn Fund Families and helped spread some holiday cheer!
Ideon Packaging has supported Canuck Place for 9 years with a yearly toy drive for the foundation. Great Little Box Company/ Ideon Packaging (GLBC) are proud to continue the tradition this year, together as a team. A group of volunteers visited a local toy shop and purchased gifts for the families at Canuck Place. Santa delivered the gifts around the Valley and Lower Mainland to the families in time for the Holiday Season.
GLBC is honoured to have partnered with McTavish Academy of Art. MAOA is a community focused center where creativity is explored, passion discovered, and a variety of events and activities can be experienced. We are happy to have donated material to the Academy for the program – “Drive in Movie Car Building Kit” in which 100 Kits have been distributed for free to the community to assemble corrugated cars. Participants are then able to submit their creation for a chance to win a prize
GLBC is excited to be a Bright Nights Sponsor of the Day for the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund on December 23rd. We will be in Santa’s workshop where kids of all ages can custom decorate a corrugated house for the holidays.
We dusted off our running shoes and raced, ran, or walked towards the festive season on November 30th. GLBC is honoured to sponsor and participate this year to support the Burn Fund’s child burn survivor programs.
On Nov 18 our team will be sleeping outside to help fight and prevent youth homelessness. They are giving up One Night so that these youth can have a lifetime. GLBC is generously matching the donations our participants raise for this event.
As one of the biggest health issues facing men, GLBC is taking part in Movember and fundraising for prostate and testicular cancer. Our employees are amazing and not only baked and donated for the cause but a huge shout out to the fellows growing their awesome Movember staches!
Our Richmond Branch was pretty in pink today as we participated in a Dress for the Cause Bake Sale to raise money for the Breast Cancer Society. Thank you to all our staff for your fantastic baking and giving to this important cause.
GLBC has so many amazing employees we created a monthly program where peers nominate each other to acknowledge and celebrate those staff who go above and beyond the call of duty. The best part is 3 monthly winners pick a charity close to their hearts for GLBC to. Since all of these charities are an important part of our community, we wanted to give a shout out to this year’s recipients:
